Country dating in the UK can be difficult at the best of times, as I found out through bitter experience, hence I launched Country Couples in December 2007.

It is my own site so I cannot claim this is strictly a review but it seems strange to blog about dating sites and not mention my own. Therefore I am only including the basic information about the site and not applying a score (I can hardly be unbiased about my own site).

Who is it for - anyone with an interest in the UK rural way of life or countryside who is looking for friendship, activity partners or a relationship.

Features - profiles, photo gallery (10 photos per member), forum, flirts, comments on profiles and photos. Chat rooms will be added shortly.

Cost for full features - Currently free, being a new site. Subscriptions, when introduced, will be £6.50 per month with a guarantee that the price will not rise for 3 years.

Comments - The site was designed and built to avoid the usual complaints users of dating sites make. Therefore, there are no recurring subscription charges, members can cancel their account from their control panel (this also deletes their email address so no annoying emails once you have left). There are no site affiliations or fake profiles to entice people to join, which means when a member sends a communication they are not waiting in vain for an imaginary person to get back to them. All staff are members of the site and display their profiles, this means that any problems or complaints a member may have can be dealt with swiftly and you communicate with a person not a machine that couldn’t care less if someone is sending you obsene messages.
